Differentiating the Environment

We have lot of custom providers and extensions (Authorization, Custom Save etc ) for blaze.

All of them have data base access and so we need the connection string.

We have a custom written xml file which is used to store some application parameters and connection string.

The requirement is that we need the connection string of all the environment(Dev, Staging and production) stored in the settings file and based on the environment the custom written code should dynamically decide which connection string to use.

  1. How to differentiate the environment of blaze?
  2. Is the approach of storing the application settings and connection string in a separate xml file correct?, is there a secured way than this to handle the situation?
