not sure what is going on, simple syntax question.

I am not sure what is going on here.

 

if (

//kaitData.prior_policy.prior_company is unknown

//and 

afaFlag = "N" 

and PriorTier = "NB"

)

 then {

print("" kaitData.prior_policy.prior_company).

return "TR"

 

Prints out "unknown".

 

But this does nothing:

if (

kaitData.prior_policy.prior_company is unknown

and afaFlag = "N" 

and PriorTier = "NB"

)

 then {

print("" kaitData.prior_policy.prior_company).

return "TR"

 

So I get unknown for the value of kaitData.prior_policy.prior_company when I try to print it out, but using it in the if statement and the if statement does not work.  I hope that makes sense, I don't feel like I am explaining it well.
